aahhh.

if i can but send the data packets unadulterated.

i hope the phones didn’t acquire lives of their own.

i hope there was but one pound, but one asterisk.

i hope we got to realize there’s but one small space separating the pound and the asterisk.

we could have either chosen to make it a bridge.

…or a wall.

…or cellphones without lives of their own.

the data packets wouldn’t have been adulterated, garbled.

I hadn’t read this one before; I can see so much of you in it.

The word “eviscerated” evokes so many strong emotions of growing apart but not being quite ready to give it up just yet. It’s a beautiful story.
