i think all's relative.

to a bacteria, a virus may be a pet, and the human tract is it's universe.

like an atom, which may be a universe on OUR micro(nano?) scale, an may contain populations of which we may never know of.

if observed from the moon, who would've known that blue and green ball of insignificance has all the complexities human beings and all other life forms on it face on any given time scale?

what is simple? what is complex?

have fun!

Well, being in this place, or in this place ... or even in this place.
All of them are different parts of my country.

But anyway, if any random night, with an open sky, you lie on your back and stare at that endless dark thing that is the sky, then its done... i guess.

I love Baraka...

I'd have to say big fat snowflakes falling at night, the 9th or 10th hour of a road trip where everything starts blurring together and colors start muting, Tokyo or Los Angeles from an apartment balcony at night.

The mountains ... everyday. Looking up at them always gives me an amazing sense of how minuscule my existence is. That, and sitting next to the ocean ... you know, the one on the other side of our Country. :P

Recently I worked the registration table for an event at Tribune Tower. Standing among huge flying buttresses 25 stories up, looking out into the open air, I felt both microscopic and very much a part of things.

The combination of enormous barriers (the "railing" around the walkway is two-foot-thick stone or concrete) and oversized architecture made me feel like I was on the set of Honey I Shrunk the Kids.
