I did once, talk to this girl after looking at her. First speechless, I gathered my courage and said hello. Told her I thought she was cute. However many months later, we’re “sorta” friends and I’m desperately in love. 7 seconds and I was gone.

It is amazing how long the imprint of those few seconds lasts.

yes.

.. but eye contact doesn’t capture the breadth and width of one’s soul.

it’s but a window that can be closed or…. opened.

… and yes, 7 seconds is an eternity if the world stops… at the eye contact.

“Is this for me?” he said, and I looked down and saw the paper money that had fluttered from my pockets around my feet. “Oh,” I said. We saw each other then. A mild face, a shiny head, he looked straight into my soul, and I looked into his… Then something shattered, and I stooped to pick up the money that had fallen. When I looked again he was gone.

It sounds like a good Craigslist Missed Connection! I bet he remembers it, too.

‘I am the Eye in the Sky, lookin’ at you, I can read your mind…
I am the maker of rules, dealing with fools, I can steal you blind…
And I don’t need to see anymore to know that
I can read your mind…’

once, on a train, i knew there was a musician sort guy looking at me, through out the whole journey. He was seated, and i standing. I felt so nervous, yet liked the attention i was getting. i pretended not to notice. At the long stop in the interchange, i looked at him straight in the eye, small smile, turned and disappeared into the crowd.

From afar, i saw him hesistate his seat for a moment. He suddenly snapped out of the spell and dashed out of the train.

Another time powerful eye contact was made was before my first girl kiss. She was drunk, and i, high. we were dancing, ina friendly manner, not grinding or dirty dancing. She hugged me at time, we were good friends. Suddenly, we made eye contact that seemed to last forever. the other people faded out. my heart was pounding.

it was invitable and she leaned in and gave me a simple kiss on the lips. I can’t remember the kiss. Just the intense seconds of eye contact before.

Eye contact is invasive. I looked straight at a girl i barely knew, and we danced. We dated for 2 months. She was crazy and beautiful. I can never let her go.
