You’re talking about me, aren’t you?!?

Ha! I was just thinking that he’s probably talking about us Vesper commenters. Either that or every forum on the internet. Change the station all you want but that’s all that’s on around here.

Actually, I love the comment quality here. Internet forums are notorious for jackassery, but the dialog here is pretty consistently sincere.

Aw, Somerled. You’re just a big teddy bear is what you are.

I thought I’d clarify that when I said “around here” I meant internet forums in general. However, I still like to think that you were thinking of us when you drew this one :)

depends what kind of ‘me’ it is, if its a thought provoking experience, then sure I’ll keep on listening! If its coming from someone I care about, I’ll put up with it even if I dont want to. If its self loathing angst from a selfish teenager– I’d rather go listen to some fun rockabilly! XD
I wonder how much councilors/psychiatrists can take before they want to change the channel? ;)

Cue up Hawkwind’s ‘Psi Power’. The talking heads just won’t turn off…

And they all sing in the key of “me.”

wait, are you talking about a radio station broadcast type or podcast style or something? because I have no idea about it in that case..

..if you mean it more metaphorically, as Rebecca Burgess interpreted it, then…
I used to think I’d put up with me broadcasts all the time, because I do it all the time. Then I met Nicole.
heh.

Oh yes, definitely metaphorical. People broadcast all sorts of monotones through their “conversations”. Sometimes it is, “I am smart, I am smart, I am smart…” Sometimes it is, “Please love me. Please love me. Please love me…” Usually it is pretty simple.

The “me” broadcasters never listen to the “you” stations, so I end up either listening, or switching off in disgust. When talking with people I dislike in social situations, I always turn the conversation back to them. They prefer it that way anyway, and I keep my self inviolate. Where I live people think nothing of interrupting, talking you down, or outright telling you you’re an idiot. So I keep it on the subject they know best…themselves.
