See Out
Can you imagine what it would be like if your senses each went to different brains, and then those brains had to negotiate an interpretation? Being organic has its advantages.
Transcriptorial: we'll grow inside your eyeballs and see / all the things you won't.

I love this idea.
i think that would give us better perspectives. we would probably be better able to see things differently then.
i think i would love this idea, as well.
do that with the Senate
If people understand my senses…they still don’t get it.
Those of us who have synasthesia already have enough confusion among the senses…in my case, sounds have shape, and sometimes colour. I don’t see the shapes and colours, I percieve them in the nervous system.
I recognise people by their voices more than their faces. When I was young and my hearing was painfully sharp, I could recognise people by their breathing, particularly in a large room with an echo like a public bathroom–because your breathing carries the tone of your voice. (Didn’t know that, did you?)
There have been people I have disliked upon hearing them speak. Not what they said, just the colour and shape of their voice. The reverse is also true. Morgan Freeman could tell me where to go, and I’d be eager to start the trip. He reminds me of that verse in the Song of Songs: Honey and milk are under your tongue, your voice is wine poured out.
Indeed.
At least my synesthesia is voluntary. Whether I hear, see, or feel the texture of a rainbow is a matter of selection, not random chance like Harry Krell in the Spinrad story…
Such sensory negotiation sometimes appears in my dreams, though. It can get a bit annoying, but I can script the channels and sort it out…
But you will never see things the way I do.
Because you don’t have my mind.
and my soul.
and my heart.
I sincerely hope you do, though.
