True, too many people assume ‘everything going right’ is the norm and only comment or complain when things go wrong.
That button seems to have more in common with the spiral galaxy thing with arms in ‘Excel Saga’ than with the big red button on the Mega Maid in ‘Spaceballs’.
Trouble with ‘resetting’ this ‘real’ world is it would probably kernel panic or blue-screen-of-death if we did…
I tend to focus more on the things that go right than wrong. It’s just, i’ve recently realised that alot of people would like to hear more about when things go wrong for you, than right.
Why would a machine tell you everything’s alright if you don’t ask?
Machines aren’t programmed to ‘complain’ when something goes wrong, they are programmed to *request outside intervention*.
This doesn’t apply to people, though. If you tell someone your day sucked etc, you somehow feel better (While the other person feels worse more often than not). Personally, I feel no incline to share good news, unlike a girl I know, who can’t help having it.
Our reasons to share information fall into a completely different category than that of machines.
i’m like that often enough. when things go wrong for me i find that i talk about them constantly. however i never actually complain about them, i try to place them in a possitive light. i then bring the subject up often to see if anyone questions why i’m so obsessed with it. they rarely ever do. in this way i have obtained many secrets. if someone asked me today about my deepest secrets, they would all be complaints about things that have gone wrong for me, and how deeply they have effected me.

Oh how I wish there were a “Back” button on life! (And a Refresh button too.)
So many people are like icebergs…two-thirds hidden below the surface, and running into them can be a painful experience.
