Lantern Bulbs
Sometimes I think our world is too light, the light is so easy to come by. But I am biased in this; a hotel two blocks away shines its bright, bright roof lights straight into my bedroom.
Transcriptorial: We hid against the cavern walls, unlit / and stole the bulbs.
Too much light at night is bad for you. Linked to cancer and nervousness.
I don’t know about cancer, but light certainly keeps me up longer than I should. But it’s necessary for my studies and my circadian rhythm is probably a couple hours off most people’s anyway.
i never turn the lights on if i don’t have to. electric lights are too unnatural, i hate the yellow glow. it’s disturbing. the sun is also to bright. i love it when there are clouds over the sun, when the light is blue, and grey, and dull. the only other kind of light i like is candle light, there’s something about fire light that attracts me.
This is why curtains were invented. I’m not overly impressed with “blinds”…which should be renamed unless they mean “(Only blocks out light if you happen to be) blind.”
I’d say that any sensory deprivation can be hard to come by. True silence is as rare as true darkness. My house is prone to the occasional power outage, and I’m actually sort of enchanted when it happens, at least if the outage is brief.
‘Lights
In the night
Shining bright,
What’s it like?
Come on down, lights in the night.
It’s easy to believe…
Lights in the night…’
(Flash and the Pan)
I once walked the streets of my city with a few friends, when suddenly a neighborhood blackout took out all the streetlights and window lights. The moon wasn’t out, there was
complete
and utter
blackness.
Like we were suddenly blinded, simultaneously. At this time one also notices how quiet the streets can be at night. It must’ve been about 2 AM, not a car on the street.
This lasted for about ten to twenty seconds.
The flavor of panic in my mouth was interesting.
I hate hate hate lights in the mornings. Any man-made photo is discriminated against.
