First Tears
Are the losses and joys we experience random? Is there a pattern to them? Or do we, after the fact, impose an order and a pattern to them to suit our present thinking?
Transcriptorial: one tear each, kept in airtight vessels

I think the question should be: Does consequence necessitate will?
I found your ominous banner on asofterworld.com — this is fantastic. I’m RSSed.
I’m glad you followed the ominous banner here! A Softer World is a one of my favorite things on the web, by a couple of my favorite friends in the world.
i’m starting to realize that loss only hurts as long as we have our interest invested in it. dettachment is the safest pattern of all.
The final tragedy is to discover all our troubles are of our own making.
we are supposed to learn something from each loss, each triumph. And David, once we learn that our troubles are of our own making, then we can learn to deal with them properly.
Some might say that we already have this guideline.
I am not particularly religious or anything, but I like to think I recognise wisdom when I see it. And the one that sums this concept up for me most succinctly is:
“As you sow, so shall you reap.”
So I kinda expect to find that my troubles are of my own making.
What I’m _hoping_ for one day is to also discover that my happinesses are likewise self-engineered through careful cultivation, hard work and personal investment.
It’s interesting how the human body is built.
Pain, for instance. At first, you feel it just as you would a surface you touch, only at greater urgency. Then, you simply cannot ignore it, it ruins your focus.
Finally, your senses are overloaded and you pass out.
Does our body not want us to lose our minds before death?
