Type Writer

There is a type of writer who cares less about writing than about being a writer. There is a type of writing that comes from a machine where all the characters and plots are etched onto its keys.

Transcriptorial: He doesn't even like it, he just does it / for the lifestyle.

To what end? Recognition? Maybe Self-recognition? Perhaps the wish to finally turn those thoughts you have towards those that have already accomplished it, inwards?

Who says we need to like our job to do it?

Okay, you’ve addicted me to commenting suddenly. I need to stop soon.

But actually, this observation runs deeper – many people don’t even do it for the lifestyle, they do it for the fact that they can and it pays the bills… Comfort zone is all they want. In your example, the odds are good their works would all be “the same” – a known-good formulae varied slightly to keep sales going.

These people exist in every profession, not just writing.
