Reeling

Even if you could replay your memory exactly, it would never be like being there again, you could never bring someone back from then to now. And if you could, perhaps that would be a lonely world in the first place, a world where we really are all just in one another’s minds.

Transcriptorial: If he could watch just one more reel / wouldn't it bring her back to life?

Thanks for your comments. When I was writing this one I was thinking of a scene in a movie about a film director whose friend has died, and he keeps watching a reel of film of him.

Exactly. Something about that scene just gets to me.

I would hate to bring the past to life. I seem to just be destroying the ground I walk upon. Remembering how it used to be before I came would diminish the value of my existence.

Cinematic (or other artistic) immortality is not the same as physical immortality is not the same as karmic immortality…
