You know, if you just want to use an image as an avatar, as far as I'm concerned, go right ahead. If you can find a convenient way to attribute it, do so, but don't worry a lot about the details.

I love this site, but I was wondering if you could sign or put the url on each picture? That way if I like one and want to use it as an avatar I dont have to worry about messing it up by adding it myself

I got a slighty bent finger. I was keeper for my soccer team for two years.
I sprained it during practice and then hurt it again during the game.

I agree. The comments are beautiful, and they provide more; some people may not want that, but I enjoy a lot of them, and the ones I don't like, I just don't bother with.

You make a good point. Recently I've shifted from these sorts of explanatory comments to questions and opened comments. I hope that will invite commentary without, as you say, ruining the best aspects of the posts. I appreciate the critique.

Why are there comments underneath all of these? The comments ruin the brevity and beauty of the picture and caption. If the comment is actually relevant like the one about the frogs that have learned to gesture, they're alright, but under every single one, explaining or justifying, it just doesn't work.
