Beautiful images and words. Reminds me of when I first joined the Navy, and we had to write a thought of the day, and then the best one would be read. I think it was also a way to monitor if we were suicidal or something else psychologically.

Thanks for the comment. I had no idea they took that kind of pulse in the Navy. I wonder if the kinds of thoughts that come to people are very different on different kinds of ship.

I was in the Navy back in the 80s… That ‘thought of the day’ thing must’ve been recent. I spent over a decade in submarines playing engineer. I would’ve preferred the engine room of a starship, but this was as close as I could get…
