Elegance

You know that feeling, when you really “get” a work of art, or the stars in the sky or the clouds just overwhelm you, or a massive number floors you? I think there’s something honest about feeling tiny.

Strange…. I completely understand what you just said, and I had one of those “tiny” moments… I thought I was the only person who thought like that up until just now.

the more people i get to know, the more alike, and the more unalike i feel.

Elegant really does feel like that, it’s surprising to know the things we as people all have in common, but I’m seeing something new everyday.

And not just the stuff you’re not supposed to mention is public. ;) Haha.

It’s surprising to know the things we have in common, but which we so rarely vocalize.

I can stare enraptured at a velvet, starlit night until my neck gets stuck that way and longer…who cares? I’m just a tiny speck of dust with a crick in her neck…

It is true that we are very tiny compared to everything as a whole but what does that have to do with elegance?

The way many mathematicians use “elegance” implies a vanishing of complexity, a return to simplicity, to zero. Quantum electrodynamics, the theory which uses the diagram notation in this installment, is considered highly elegant, for example.
